Spotting

SS/Ss/ss
Listed from Heavy to Minimal coverage (left -> right)
- There are limitless ways that Voks express the spotting gene, they can be in any shape from stars to diamonds, plain circles, or even a freckled like appearance this is due to the spreading of the species to certain areas that required different shapes to adapt efficiently. The only limitation is the amount of coverage displayed on the body. The color of the spots should be relative to the base coat and other markings (i.e. you can not have bright orange spots on a dark blue base). The amount of coverage is dependent on genotype.
Minimal Coverage; 1-20%
Mid Coverage; 20-40%
Heavy Coverage; 40-90%

The below are just a few examples of shapes you may utilize!

Striped

ST/St/st
Listed from Heavy to Minimal coverage (left -> right)
- Similar to the spotting gene, the striped gene can be displayed in numerous ways from a barred like appearance to a smooth stripe, this is due to the spreading of the species to certain areas that required different shapes to adapt efficiently. The only limitation is the amount of coverage displayed on the body. The color of the stripes should be relative to the base coat and other markings (i.e. you can not have bright orange stripes on a dark blue base). The amount of coverage is dependent on genotype.

Dorsal Stripe

DS/ds
- A long stripe extending from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. It is possible for the dorsal stripe to start at the forehead and in some cases the stripe can be thick enough to extend to the shoulders. It is still undetermined why this gene became present in the species but some believe it is due to fur thickness that added extra protection to the vulnerable spine The edges of the stripe may be blurred or blended to a degree and may also fade out as it reaches the base of the tail. This gene can be displayed as a paper thin stripe or one even thicker than the examples below. The color of the dorsal stripe must either be a darker variation of the base or the Voks' wax color.

Gradient

GR/Gr
- A dark overlay of color that covers most markings and creates a "gradient" or "fading" like appearance on the coat. This gene can extend from the forehead to the ankles, but fades the further it goes. It is common knowledge that this gene developed as a mechanism that helped Voks adapt to the differing hues in certain areas, as well as being able to blend in with their environment regardless of the time of day. The darkness of the gradient is dependent on the base coat, breed or preference.

Pinto

PP/pp
- A white or cream overlap on a Voks pelt that covers all markings and causes the skin in affected areas to turn a pink-like hue. The degree of this coverage can be anywhere from just small patches of white to almost complete coverage and is dependent on preference. It is assumed that this gene originated in Iskold where Voks would need to blend into the occasional snowfall there.
